FAQ

Why did you create FileShareGo?

It all started from a sad observation. There is no free file-sharing solution that respects users privacy. There are either paid features or lots of ads. So I decided to create my own solution.

Is FileShareGo free ?

FileShareGo is completely free. All features are freely accessible. There are no premium accounts or intrusive ads. I maintain the service on my own.

Do I need to register?

It is not necessary to register to use FileShareGo. However, if you want to keep a history of your uploads and access more features, you can use your email address to login.

Are there any limits to how the service can be used?

There are no limits on how you use FileShareGo :

  • You download and upload at maximum speed.
  • No limits on the number of files uploaded.
  • No limit on file size.

However, keep in mind that the more the service is solicited, the more likely it is to slow down. We recommend file sizes up to 10GB even though our servers are capable of handling much more.

How long are my uploads accessible?

Your uploads remain accessible indefinitely as long as they are regularly downloaded.
After 120 days of inactivity, an upload can be deleted to free up space on the servers.
An upload is considered inactive if it is not regularly downloaded by different IPs.

Can I recover uploads that have been deleted?

No, that's not possible. When an upload is deleted, it is irreversible.

Is FileShareGo secure?

All pages and file transfers are encrypted (download and upload). All servers use TLS1.2+, SHA256 and RSA-4096 for encryption.
You also have the possibility to set up an access password and/or an expiry date on your uploads.
If you want to encrypt your data before sending it to the FileShareGo servers, you can do so easily with Open Source software like 7Zip.

What are the network performances?

FileShareGo is hosted on dozens of very powerful servers with high bandwidth.
There is no restrictions on network speed. You download at the maximum speed of your connection.
However, the service is necessarily limited in capacity since I finance the infrastructure myself.

What can I upload?

You can upload anything as long as it's legal.
